MACH-1™ solid-state high voltage DC contactors (up to 2kV, 450A, 3mΩ) are commonly used for EV automotive applications. Two semiconductor technologies are available for high-voltage DC switching:
- conventional silicon (Si), which offers lower cost but higher power loss,
-
advanced silicon carbide (SiC), which provides >50% lower power loss along with superior robustness and reliability. SiC technology may also be suitable for high-altitude environments where exposure to cosmic rays is significantly higher.
Features & Benefits
- Rated up to DC 2kV and 400A.
- No moving parts, arc-free & wear-free
- PLC/TTL/CMOS Input Options
- MTBF 1 million+ power cycles
- Made in Canada, semiconductors from USA/Taiwan
